hmm...i have no idea what to blog about...but it seriously has been a long time since i last blogged...

alright! lets talk about the pathetic state of human nature!

all around in the world, people crave acceptance. desperate people would seek other people to make friends with. and it seems like the market has taken advantage of this and introduced chat lines and what have you...

but has anyone really wondered why human being crave to be accepted? well, one thing is for sure is that everyone wants to be accepted into the society. but what exactly is it that brings about this mentality?

i say it would have to be society. lets make an example. all along you were living without an iPod. but then comes along this new invention and everyone you know has got it. soon, almost everyone except you yourself doesnt have it. by now, you should be craving for one. i mean, im just giving the iPod as an example. it can be anything else such as a computer, the latest bag design, etc.

now let us examine what has just happened. before this new item came along, you were perfectly happy. you didnt even know there was such an item and you felt that your life was perfect. but then something else everyone had came along and now you long for it, feeling so desperate for the item.

what is it that causes this syndrom? it just human nature to want to follow others. now we have to go back further to understand what instills this human nature. as a child when we were just born, we were taught by society that 'this' is the way...'that' is the way. soon it becomes instilled in our minds. this is called barriers. and barriers prevent us from seeing the truth in everything.

just an example of how society plays a part, in an African village, the worst punishment mented out is that of banishment. the offender would be asked to leave the village and soon after, he would die. now before you say he is prolly gonna die of thirst and hunger, we must understand that they are hardy people and can live in the desert alone for days on end. so again, back to topic. what is it that causes these people to die?

again, it is because at a young age, they were taught that you could not live alone without the protection and care from the village. now we bring this to a 1st world country context. would you die if you were to leave home and stay in another housing estate?

i would say that this human mind conditioning has become so dangerous that people might suffer. it has become like a drug. those who are desperately seeking for company are similar to those drug addicts who are suffering from withdrawal syntoms. the human body is so accustomed to this drug that they cannot live without it.

so how can we adapt ourselves from this cruel world? well, first of all, understand that what you dont have does not stop you from being happy. only you stop yourself from being happy. because again, you were perfectly happy until someone told you that you arnt.

dont cling onto illusions...it only brings you down...

Iraq War

today's post I guess would be about the Iraq war...I mean after all, a lot of stuff has been happening and many idiots keep getting their facts mixed up...anyway, that’s not the point about this post today...its basically about the Iraq War...? I have no idea...I'll just write whatever comes to mind...

How Did It Start?

well, just a brief history, as we all know, this is the second time the Allied (I shall coin the term allied nations instead of coalition forces, etc whatever...) nations invaded Iraq...the first was because Iraq has invaded Iran and Kuwait because of its oil...I think...either way, it was because Saddam wanted to expand his nation, etc, etc, etc... So in the end, Iraq was beaten and forced to retreat...

this time, it was supposedly because Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction which posed an imminent threat to global security...this, I would and must agree that if they really DID have WMD, they must be stopped at all costs as they have used it freely on their own people before...some example were the Kurds up north...women and children were gassed mercilessly...HOWEVER in the year 2002, Iraq did allow UN weapons inspectors into their facilities and they could not find any. Thou they did not find the Iraqi sources credible... kind of like a smoking gun thing...Yet America still insisted that they did posses it...

The War

In the year 2003, the US led invasion began...I would say, its not an invasion at all...the Americans probably just waltzed in...I mean, how long did they take to overcome Iraqi resistance? a week?2?i don’t think there was even a military to begin with...its just sporadic resistance here and there...but of course I must say that some of these 'pockets of resistance' are somewhat on a grand scale...having battles and sieges…but they are just militants...not even your regular soldiers...so guess these idiots are mounting a 'jihad' against these 'invaders' or whatever...so they are just using hit and run tactics...not willing to face up to a real fight...using suicide bombers...road side mines...IEDs...booby trapped doors...etc....

The Price of War

This also has led to speculations that America invaded Iraq for its oil. But many of these ignorant fools don’t know how much it takes to mobilize armies, naval task forces and air wings. and mind you...I am talking about ARMIES,NAVAL FLEETS,AIR COMMAND...an army contains roughly 60 000 personnel, a naval fleet contains about 2 task force...an air force command roughly 200 planes with as much as 10 000 personnel....and America sent in a few...they have got a couple of carrier battle groups off shore, a couple of armies here and there...not to mention the Marine Core...Air force commands in different places...so yea...just imagine twice the size of Singapore's armed forces in Iraq fighting...yaya.. America has a bigger population this and that...therefore they can wage a war Singapore can’t…

My point is the amount of money spent...the estimated cost for the Iraq war has totaled to a staggering amount of $380 BILLION...you can probably buy the world over a couple of times....you think a year's supply of Iraqi oil can amount to that? Iraq produces only something like 400 000 barrels of oil per day (BPD)...we must also take into consideration about the disruptions caused to the daily produce of oil...so 400 000BPD is using a 'best case scenario' estimate...and using today's oil prices, it can only subsidize somewhat $9 billion a year...and the cost of war is expected to go up to $13 billion a month...so do the math...

400 000 x 365 = 146 000 000 barrels of oil a year

146 000 000 x $60 = $8 760 000 000

$13 000 000 000 x 12 = $1.56x10^11

aargh....you get the point...it’s a heck lot of zeros involved....

And of course...we have not factored in the other effects of the war and how it has affected the economy world wide...ever wondered why the sudden surge in oil prices? Its because of the war in Iraq...the world economy had also plunged into the abyss...these kind of money loss cannot be calculated...so do you think America would plunge into a war without concern about the world's economy? After all, America really does more or less depend on the world for its economy...I got this off wikipedia...

"Joseph Stiglitz, former chief economist of the World Bank and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics, has suggested the total costs of the Iraq War on the US economy will be $1 trillion in a conservative scenario and could top $2 trillion in a moderate one. The Congressional Research Service recently estimated weekly spending at almost $2 billion per week, and that total expenditures have now topped half a trillion dollars."

Current Situation

anyway, seems like the situation is getting from bad to worse...increase IED attacks...roadside bombs...suicide attacks...RPG attacks....assaults... this month's American forces death toll is higher than that of the Iraqi Army...some incidences worth commenting are the daring attacks staged in near the green zone. When the American vice-president Dick Cheney visited Iraq, there was a RPG attack at the gate...in another separate incident, when the visiting UN general was holding a talk, there was another RPG attack...this time its proximity was so close to the hall, that windows were shattered....Just recently, Iran captured 15 British sailors in Iraqi waters claiming that the British were in Iranian waters...if there should someone wanting to initiate another war, it should be Iraq… in fact, I think Iraq should invade Iran again...I wonder why did the Americans intervene during the first war… should have just let Iraq take over Iran…why take the trouble…

However situation in America is that the Democrats want to get its troops back home. While George Bush is bent on continuing the war. The Democrats are just irresponsible. They are merely trying to hide away from a problem… I think they are trying to back out from what is starting to get tough. Of course, money and lives are lost...but if this continues, more problems would arise. Guess you can say it is for a greater good. Seems like the Democrats and the Republicans are playing a game that would not result in anything constructive. While one side is getting more funds for the war, the other is trying to get its troops back home…

The situation in Iraq regarding the military is that many of the Allied Nations that are ‘supporters’ of America are pulling back. Most of them have started to withdraw their troops in the wake of increased militant activity...even Britain, America's closest ally, does not seem too keen in continuing the war in Iraq...to date, Britain itself has spent close to £4.5 billion with casualties rates placed at 120. America itself has suffered 3,352 KIA with many more wounded in action.

Should The War Go On?

America must acknowledge that there is a problem and they must solve it. They must know that history cannot repeat itself. Look what had happened in the Vietnam War? America refused to send in most of their regular soldiers and was taking it 'easy' by sending fresh recruits in to fight. And what was the result? High casualty rates, clear objectives not met...and what had happened in the end? The north took over the south. Exactly what the Americans DIDNT want...so guess you can say it was a war that was fought in vain...I mean, in everything you do, you must want to achieve something...

I guess the theory is that if you need to have a problem solved, you don’t just stop half-way...you just whack it all the way! I can even give a few good examples...say you need to go to somewhere...say the mall to meet up with a group of good friends...so there you have it, your objective...to get to the mall to meet your friends. so the way to 'achieve' your objective is to well, to get there...so be it rain or shine, guess most people would want to go...After all, they are a good bunch of your friends....you don’t go half way and turn back...argh...guess its not a good one...but you get my point...cannot 'ban tu er fei' thingy...the Chinese idiom thingy...not sure if I got it right...

BUT damned bottom line is that although the price of war is mounting, America should not pull out. because I can guarantee that after America pulls out, half crazed idiots thinking they came from heaven will take over the country and more crap would happen...irritating isn’t it? kinda like the guy in your class who think he's god's gift to women kind of thing...you so just wanna lob off his balls....heh...

Learning From Past Mistakes

this is somewhat a continuation from the above part...the current situation is very similar to that of the second world war...be it in the European or pacific theater...lets first begin in the European theater of war...

In the 1930s, Germany started weapons buildup and started training troops above its maximum amount...Soon; the Nazis were starting to gain a vast majority of votes in Germany and started committing criminal acts. Some of which included using their personal police force to break up opposition parties meeting and rallies. The worst one I would say was 'Crystal Night'...it was where Jewish shops, homes, synagogues were all burnt and destroyed...you can say it was an outright act of atrocity...anyway, so at first the dear prime minister chamberlain thought the policy of appeasement would work...so when Germany started taking everywhere, he still thought there would be peace in their time...it was only after Germany attacked Poland, did Britain and France decided to strike back...here, we can clearly see that Chamberlain didn’t acknowledge that there was a problem...this resulted in him trying to believe that 'it wont happen' kind of thing...its only after so much later, did they finally try to take action which of course by then it was too late...IF he had taken action earlier while Germany was starting to build up its forces, they might be able to avoid world war 2 altogether.

Now lets talk about the Pacific front...guess it all started with Japan invading Manchuria, claiming it was for its natural resources, etc...Soon Japan hit into China. There and then, when Japan attacked China, there were still many foreign delegates in china. some of them were so close to it, that their offices were just a river away from a battle...they would even dare to look out of their windows and view the fight going on as thou they were in the roman colosseum...the delegates there and then had the 'hey, its their war, what has it got to do with us’ kind of mentality...this of course proved to be disastrous...Japan has soon invaded Malaya and later on, into the pacific. If the Allied Powers had any foresight during that period, they would have said 'hey, something is not right. We cannot let this go on. We have got to stop it no matter what it takes'...which now brings me to another example...but it is about the invasion of Malaya...

When Japan had finished with China, it soon had its sights set on Singapore...also named as the impregnable fortress....well, in THEORY, Singapore was indeed an impregnable fortress... The only way into Singapore was by the sea which was well defended by sentosa. The other way was through the land mass north of our island...However, when Japan had started to move into Malaya, the Brits still believed that Japan would not go all the way to Singapore and they would stop soon after...even when the Japanese were in Johor, they STILL believed that they were able to hold out against the Japanese...of course, you can ask yourself, why didn’t the British turn the guns around or try building base defenses? Well, you really can’t help it about the guns because they are fixed...you know...it’s the olden days...not mobile arty....so they are kinda fixed at where they were built…and how about constructing the base defenses? ahh...that is the whole problem...he had at his disposal, 6 000 engineers who could have been used to construct base defenses...but what did he say? 'No, it will be a blow to both the moral of the men and civilians'... this was a mistake that had led to the capture of 138 000 Allied soldiers...the Japanese had far less in terms of soldiers and equipment... in reality, the Japanese were to have run out of food something like a week before the British finally surrendered… so how did the Japanese hold out for so long? Well, the British themselves are to be blamed for that… They had left a train load of supplies, maps, ammo, etc for the Japanese when they pulled out… smart of them eh?

hmm...a friend of mine sent me a mail...found it quite interesting so decided to post it...nothing much to write about,just that just remember to be fast when it comes to love...dont let the girl/guy of your dreams slip past you..im sure many of you have seen this mail before,but im gonna post it...
spent a heck of a long time trying to edit it becausethe ass-hole of the world put tonnes of '>>>>' in the damned post....not to mention it was full of spelling errors...blardy prick who wrote this is neither here nor there...an american content/language with lousy 'act cute' english with singlish and poor grammer and spelling...not to mention this idiot's 'g' all became a 'q'...edited it briefly,didnt bother much abt the grammer thou...just made it more reader friendly...

7th grade
Stared at the girl next to me.
She was my so called "best friend".
I stared at her long,silky hair, and wished she was mine.
But she didnt notice me like that, I knew it.
After class she walked up to me and asked me for the notes she had missed the day before and handed them to her.
She said "thanks"and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I wanna tell her, I want her to know that I don`t wanna Be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why...

11th Grade
The phone rang. On the other end it was her.
She was in tears,mumbling on and on, about how her love had broke her heart.
She asked me to come over because she didn't want to be alone, so I did.
As I sat next to her on the sofa, I stared at her soft eyes, wishing she was mine.
After 2 hours,a drew barrymore movie,3 bags of chips, she decided to go to sleep.
She looked at me, said "thanks" and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I wanna tell her,I want her to know that I don`t wanna be just friends, I love her but I'm just too shy,and i dont know why.

Senior Year
The day before prom she walked to my locker.
My date is Sick" she said; he's not gonna go.
Well,I didnt have a date and in 7th grade and we made a promise that if neither of us had dates we would go together just as "best friends". So we did.

Prom night
After everything was over I was standing at her front at her, She smiled at me.
I want her to be mine, but she doesn`t think of me like that and I know it.
Then she said "I Had the best time, thanks!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
I wanna tell her, I want her to know that I don`t want to be just friends, I love her but im just too shy,and I dont know why.

Graduation Day
Before I could blink, it was graduation day.
I watched as her perfect body floated like an angel up on stage to get her diploma.
I wanted her to be mine, but she didnt notice me like that, and I knew it.
Before everyone went home, she came to me in her smock and hat, and cried as I hugged her. then she lifted her head from my shoulder and said,"you're my best friend, thanks!" and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

A Few Years Later
Now I sit in the pews of the church.
That girl is getting married now.

Years passed
I looked down at the coffin of a girl who used to be my "best friend".
At the service,they read a diary entry she had wrote in her high school years.
This is what it read: I stare at him wishing he was mine, but he doesn't notice me like that, and I know it. i wanna tell him, i want him to know that I don't wanna be just friends, I love him but I'm just too shy, and I don't know why. I wish he would tell me he loved me...I wish I did too. I thought to myself, and I cried

anw...another reason why i had posted this is cause a close friend of mine recently broke up and so i was thinking abt stuff that might have happen in the past that my friend might have done and regretted it?just hope my friend can would read this post and understand...

Scouts stuff

bleaugh....so much stuff has happened in scouts...so guess im gonna have a break on my articles and do one abt my personal life instead...but abt scouts...so if ur one of the few scouts who would actually bother to read abt my blog,you would more or less know whats gonna happen

recruitment~so guess this year has been pretty good...we all have got 23recruits whose cca is officially registered as a scout and they would go thru their recruitment training camp on the 2nd~4th feb...lets just hope that they would just stay put...haahaaa.....

combined meeting~right!ive finally got a combined meeting in the pipeline...not sure if its gonna get stuck half-way thou....anw,as of this date,i have already sent a proposal to smss's guider and they are currently reviewing it...
the initial proposed date was either 2~3 or 9~10...but we've just got updates that due to the fact that jobweek starts on the 9th,the window for the combined has closed to only 2~3march...the time frame...its,erm...very very tight...and i srsly cant be running everything myself...so its really important that the PLs and the PLC frm smss cooperate with us for this to be sucessful...
however,i must voice out my concerns that i dont think smss is really keen on it...so guys,i might actually be finding another school to do it with...prolly cedar or if u all thick skin,can go try rgs...according to a friend of mine,their guider has rejected proposal's from SJI,01 and 02...so yupp...if u all(PLC) got a lot of time,u can just go to rgs and get ur ass pwned by GIRLS whose english is anytime better than ours
anw,not to worry much...the worst case scenario is that i'll have to hook us up with either cedar or cresent or tkgs and you all can just reuse the proposal we sent it to smss...

promotions~yea right...all thx to my sec4 'mates' who ditched me in the last year,im left with 07 sec3 plc to do most stuff...i must admit they are actually quite a good lot,but i srsly,i dont see any potential in them to do anything that has to do with formalities,like being either the external sect or chairman...the only reason why i think i became the external sect last year,was cause of my bro...so i can just ask him straight away if i need help with anything...

okay then...i shall do an article on friends!i myself not sure if this article would come out fine,cause simply,i dont have much material to work with...and im only relying on personal experience which i would admit i dont have much of...

right then,it actually all started with a grp of friends i recently met up with...i could still remember the times which we were all very close...we all treated each other like brothers and sisters,accepted them as who they are...we all felt that nothing could ever seperate us...we were all just like 1 big,happy family...whatever problems we have,we could share it with one another and we could almost be certain that they would always be there for us when we fall

however,seems like after two years...everything has changed...and i really mean,everything...personalities...attitude...so we tried to talk like the good times and everything...but i felt,different...it wasnt what it used to be...something was amiss...something i couldnt put my finger on...

sometimes,i would tend to ask myself...what makes a friendship last?in the first place,how do we even define friendship?just someone u know?a person u like?a person you favour?here is the 2 words i searched 'friend' and 'friendship' is taken from merriam webster dictionary...

1 a : one attached to another by affection or esteem b : ACQUAINTANCE

2 a : one that is not hostile b : one that is of the same nation, party, or group

3 : one that favors or promotes something (as a charity)

4 : a favored companion

1 : the state of being friends

2 : the quality or state of being friendly

right.so has anyone ever wondered what makes a friendship last?the amount of good times we shared?but can this withstand the test of time?its really strange that for some old friends,who i so happen to meet that i have not talked to for years,we would still be able talk as if we knew each other since forever...however,whats even stranger,is that we have never really shared any good or fun memories....hell...some of them were not in my class....so what explains this weird bond we have with one another?

for example,we meet an old friend again after years of seperation...do we remember him for the good times with the old him?of course...but what if,he has taken a complete turn...he is now,not what you remember him for...so how would you still treat this friend?

as most of you would know...i am a resource for the holiday prog superteens...looking at it again...it would prolly be the only time in which campers would be so close to each other in such a short time span...they would get to know their fello campers almost down right to the last detail...however,sad part is that after the camp,yes,we would still keep in contact for a while,but slowly after that,we would just disappear from each other's lives...we would go our own seperate paths..not knowing where it would lead us to...not knowing when would be the next time we would ever see each other again...

i think thats all i can think of for the night...and i shall end off by saying that friends are the ones you can depend on in life...so,remember to treasure your friends as 1day,you might not know when would they need you or when would you need them....or worse still...you may not know when would be the next time you would see each other if you got seperated...so,remember...you would never know how valuable something is until you have lost it;which by then would be too late for any regrets...

argh...superteens.....this camp was screwed...in my personal opinion...not to criticise everyone,but out of the 11resource members,7 of them were new and didnt know how to do their job....they took forever just to complete even the simplest of jobs...all of you know how lazy am i and i would usually not move my ass unless i need to,but for this camp,marcus,gill and i were the 3 to be doing most of everything....and i dont like it....the senior resource shouldnt be the one to bore the brunt of everything...the jr resources only were able to do some simple stuff like mark papers and normal grp activities...one guy who is in st.gabs cant do his job at all....was in charge of music and he keeps screwing things up!!!so much so that marcus who could be doing more important stuff gets tied down with music...im not saying that music is not important,but its quite simple to do music!play baroque all the time,when doing something that requires them to 'hype' up,play upbeat,before,during and a short time aft breaks u also play upbeat...only for some special days u are required to play certain special music like during born to win,steel rod,love talk is where u play a diff kind of classical music,then for autogenic u play a special set of music...anyway,it was like so bleddy clear that ken(co-trainer)'s computer spcially had a playlist clearly labelled 'upbeat','autogenic','baroque',etc...i mean there is more,but it just goes along this outline....for another guy,he didnt even do anything at all...all he did was space out during COE and stuff of the sort...another looked like a freaking drug addict and all he did?was buy food for a muslim kid...2 sisters were okay...they at least knew their job...just that they must at least know HOW to be more alert...ernest was screaming at one of them and she didnt know she was being shouted at?another girl who resourced 2camps(i think) already was still very blur?the ttp she did was a flop....we shuld usually start off VERY strong....and slowly go down...but she did the starting and was so soft,i was cringing behind...we were suppose to ttp like 5ppl i think,but in the end only did 2....for me,i was like under constant pressure to do things!!i was in charge of COE and the cameraman...so was pretty tiring...thou i was grateful that ken himself,marcus and gab themselves were helping me do the stuff as well...and overall what was so bad of the camp was the fact that we were in a new place called the YMCA and that it sucked...i would really much pref corpthon...i think corpthon gives us all what we need...a big room,toilets nearby...big space...nice bedrooms...you name it....YMCA was so small that we were all squeezing like crazy...i know 6ppl sleeping in a room is bad enough,but with YMCA rooms?we were literlly packed like sardines in a tin can...and anyway...i think lets first talk about what went wrong on the 1st day...well,first of all,we would usually have the groups,rooms and files sorted by lunch or slightly after lunch...so of course since im not in the paper work dept,i didnt quite bother...but suprise suprise!i didnt recieve my file with the campers profile till that night after dinner....and you know it was who that finally managed to get the thing done?me...still cant believe took them a day just to simply a)find ST1,2,3 b)go and sort it out into the files for the differernt groups!this really isnt about me who should really stop whining and just help the others...its more about them doing nothing and not being able to do something simple!and no,you dont need to learn to be able to do something like this...if you were to learn,you would be able to do the sorting of files in less than half an hr...there was once i went back to visit,i was helping jules to sort out the files and it took the 2 of us less than half an hr!but okay,lets forget abt that...
now on to COE(challenge of excellence)...it is the thing where we have outdoor activities...the resources didnt know what the heck they must do...all they did was just stand in front and do nothing while gill and marcus were busy arranging stuff away...what would the common procedure be is that once we have sorted out the groups,we just make sure there is 1camp leader in each grp...but god knows how or why,there was 1 grp that had 2leaders and other resources couldnt spot it out!and dont ask me why not i be the one to spot....was simply because i was busy with the structure to be bothered with a small matter to be handled like that...argh...now loose the mood to blog already...just go read whats up and im sure u all would know how stressed up you can be....

okay...seems like the prev post which i said was gonna be short didnt turn out to be so short afterall...kept getting materials from sss website itself...okay...so for today i shall be talking about the word 'discovery'...what made me want to write about this all started with me reading something about the british...i think it soon started with me getting all pissed off at them for various reasons....cause well,they cant do much of anything...they brought utter chaos everywhere they went...they couldnt maintain the place they colonized...they are simply just a bunch of cowards...how do i get all this info?all from the past...cant do anything~they doing much of anything now?utter chaos~had the state of israel under its thumb and didnt do anything when the jews and muslims were fighting.maintain place they controlled~look what happened to sgp?cowards~LOOK at what happen to singapore....they outnumbered the japs 4:1...and no,the japs were more short on food themselves...the brits GAVE their supplies to the jap when they forgot they had a train filled with supplies when they pulled out...okay,with all this,i suddenly thought of it that the brits and the spanish have pretty much a lot in common...the spanish single handedly destroyed 2 civilisations...incas and the aztecs...they also went round looting everywhere and anywhere...and they 'discovered' many islands and place..cant remember all of the name,but its a lot and i dont like it...not that it matters now...and how christopher coloumbus 'discovered' america...well,thats suprising isnt it?how the heck u know u have discovered a place when someone else might have already discovered it?according to recent studies,it is believed that coloumbus had followed admiral cheng ho(zheng he)'s map...was something to do with the dumb stuff happening there and then i think...abt how the world was flat and stuff like that...and u know the english...they wont do it unless they know somethings out there...the spaniards are diff thou....and anyway,the historians did a research and discovered that there is some traces of chinese blood in the american natives who lived along the coast of america...not that im siding with the chinese,but its that u didnt see cheng ho running all round the place claiming that it was he who discovered the place...he prolly just went like 'oh look,somewhere new,i have got to draw a map of this place' kind of thing...where as coloumbus prolly went like 'OHHH!!!LOOOOK!I HAVE FOUND THE NEEEEW WOOORLD!!!!' kind of thing....and just to set the record straight,you cant actually discover a new place....well,probally just to yourself,but not to the whole world...ever thought about the natives who lived there?they didnt go like 'OH LOOK!I HAVE DISCOVERED MYSELF!!!'....i mean...who in the right mind would do that!?!?!?u freaking dont go to someone elses's hse and tell the whole world that u have discovered somewhere new....get my drift?and to side-step abit,i think the reason the europeans were advancing very fast is cause all of them are very close to the sea...to them,the sea is the limit...so what u gonna go aft u have reached the limit?well,go over the limit...so for those natives in america.....well,good luck to them....u know how big america is?and how would they know to go N,S,E or W...so i think im just gonna wrap it up here....think i have made my point....

okay...today i will be talking about our very own little singapore sports school.today's post i think would be quite short as im just writing my own opinion(which may be wrong) and dont have much material to 'work with'....okay,as we all know that singapapore created our very own sports school to 'consolidate' all our sportsmen/women all into 1 school.the reason for this is that they have proved themselves to be of the cream of the crop in their sport in one way or another...be it they were talent spotted during a match/sports heat or head hunted.what the school does is to specially cater to the needs of a sports player...for us normal schools,our cca works around our school time table.however in sports school,their acadamics work around their sports...so that means they would have lessons better catered to them...so it could be something like in the middle of a normal school term but if they have to attend a overseas competition or somesort,their school time table is suspended(again,if im not wrong)but what i have heard is that during their competition,they are still asked to follow a light school session at night or whenever free....in the sports school,they pretty much function just like any other school as well...school in the morning but aft schl,they would have tranining sessions or something called sports clininc i think...they recently did a report on the students in the sports school.from what i can remember,one of them commented that its quite stressful as they would still have to attend traninings and stuff aft school,and when he was in his old school,he would often go to the movies aft school with his friends.during their training sessions,they have pretty much the best coaches there is in sgp to teach them...not saying that the other coaches in our little island is very lousy,but imagine u are a coach urself,u are asked frm singapore sports school to coach its students...would you accept it?chances are its of course...but imagine if its from some school u have never heard of it before?obviously ur gonna reject it...the only other way is that you previously have some connection with the school,be it your old school or that you support the school due to some reason or another...singapore sports school would also also have exchange progs with sports team from countries when they visit here...recently they also published in the newspaper that some famous ex-runner is here in sgp to help the runners in singapore sports school...with all these factors,other schools would obviously have a disadvantage if they were to compete aginst them in a sports heat....so this brings me to another point...why is singapore sports school taking part in all the sports heat as well?the chances of them winning is crazily high...would almost be impossible for any other school to beat them right?sss has is also offering a through train which leads them all the way to university...but have they ever thought of the sportmen whose acadamic skills is well....not up to it?how often we see that top notch atheletes are smart?im not saying that all of them are not smart...its just one of the funny things we see in life...someone would rarely have all the triats of a good person...you know the saying 'beauty or brains' thingy.....so how they select their students?according to their website 'All students are selected based on their technical skills, fitness and potential for future development of their talent. They will also need to pass a written psychological test to assess their mental strength and aptitude. Finally, they will be interviewed by the School's senior management before being considered for admittance'....so seems like they only focus on their sport and not bothering about their academics?would this prove to be fair to other students who cannot make it to university?so summaries this point i have just made,they have a prog that brings them all the way to university grad.what happens to those whose academics is not up to standard?is this fair to others,all because they have a sports background,he gets his way all the way up to university?now i shall be talking about the fees for the school...according to the sport school website,it costs $6 000 a year....however,they also stated that 'Partial scholarships from the School and its corporate sponsors are on offer to top Singapore students while financial assistance schemes are available to help needy Singapore students to afford the fees. '....so that means now,to be among the best,we have to like pay top dollar for it as well...shouldnt the govt be paying more to cover the costs?if there is not govt subsidy(which means for PRs and foreigners),the full blow is 25k...that is seriously a lot....say from sec1 to jc2...how much is it gonna cost a singaporean?thats like 6years...6x6000=36 000....and how about for the full one?25000x6=150k.....care to cough it up?now i am asking about their sports prog...why dont they allow other sports such as rugby,cricket,etc...again,according to the FAQ at the website,

ahaha...so free today...didnt have anything on cept going to schl...anyway,today happy day cause nothing bad happened so suddenly felt like blogging...today is actually more for the scouts to read...as you know,we are suppose to have a combined troop meeting AND a campfire this year,but thanks to some people,we didnt have it...so im like now listing out to the schools that you all have wanted to do it with...they are namely cedar,cresent,st margs and rgs?i think thats all right?well,not all but ur favs....anyway,for cedar,i have not contacted them yet,but if i do,i should be able to get it through since we are on good terms with each other.added to the fact that we have contacts there that might get it through...cresent is all thanks to someones rumours that *ahem*....never mind,shall not elaborate...but sad for you all larh,i dont know anyone from cresent...fine,i do...but not the few who can get it through...st margs is prolly a good choice,they are our sister schl and prolly have a couple of ppl there that can help us...for rgs?i think we can just forget abt it...according to the guides frm there,their teachers arnt really so keen on having a combi with a boys schl.heard was thanks to a prev combi they had...they all acted like a bunch of crazy ass...so yeah...its more or less these schls u all short listed...but then again,i MUST remind you that im not like you all who have so much time to get to known girls this and that...i already screwed my sec3...i just made the mark of 1eng2sub...and prolly next year im gonna pull out from scouts...and also,theres only a few sec3s who are still trying to keep this thing running...so i must stress that this year 2006 sec2s must remain faithful to our troop and keep comming down for troop meetings...im am glad that many of this years sec2 has been constantly attending it...so yeah...

dang...so crazily tired...ended up the timing was all screwed up...by the time we started work,it was abt 1pm++.And what could be worse??The lashings we tied were all loose...and so the 8hrs+ of work on saturday was all wasted...and so we had to quickly tighten all the lashings.And the stupid Mr.Teo(DnT) the NPCC teacher...he made a lot of noise cuz we managed to put up our banner above of his...and we realised our school NPCC ARE A BUNCH OF FREAKIN THEIVES!!!Cuz we left some ropes on the floor getting ready to tie our structures,then the next minute we turned back;all our ropes were gone...And Mr.Teo was like screamin at us saying that HE was kind enough to lend us half the carpark when it was WE who booked the bleddy place first...i am not blaming the NPCC cadets cuz they are still as blur as ever,but i am talkin abt the NPCC seniors which inculdes upper sec boys and teachers...this spells war with them unless they change their ways...ne-way...so later abt 5pm parents started comming in.And the parents as expected,started to leave at 7pm...and so after everyone had left,which was about 7.30...And so we were split into animals and birds...animals were to clear the internal rubbish or so wad i call...and the animals would be taking down the bridge...and it was only like 9pm then we finished and abt 930 be4 we were allowed to go home after debreifing...

2day was really crazy...We had so much rubbish to do...Didnt bring my english stuff...Muz bring A4 size exercise bk,B3 exercise bk,note bk and blue file...Well,so now at home i only haf A4 excersie bk and tml haf a 2 period of english...i am so screwed...and also 2day...our Science T-cher never come...so we had a period with our CME t-cher,god knows what is his name...and he has this style of the stupid riding a bike stance...tts makes me veri sick...then we HAD to do our schl haka in the polygon(quadrangle) with everyone looking...then we had another relif t-cher taking us...she siao 1...scream and shout at us...from 3rd floor all the way to her homeroom...god knows who can ta-han her...there are really a few teachers i dont really know how some classes can take it..must be nerve wrecking...

CCA display prep

WAAHAAHAA!!!2day was at scouts from 10am to 6pm...Anyway,since our schl is making it as a 5day work week and had some problems with the CCA dept,we had to push 1hr of scouts on friday...So scouts will be held on 2days.Friday from 2.30pm~3.30pm and saturday from 10am~3pm...weird right...well,anyway...i woke up late and got to schl VERY late...and later we wasted sometime...carried the baka(is tat how u spell it?sounds like a japanese valguarity)from the 'shed'(u cant call it a shed,it is beside the DNT room) and brought it to the carpark...and so the plan was that we were to build a bridge across the row of plants which is abt 3~4m across and build another watch tower or izzit called a hour glass tower?well,simply the thing is just an 'A' frame as a base and a inverted tripod stand on it...and as u all know the baka still has the bark on it unlike the spars right?so we all had quite a bit of splinters irritating us...and fortunately no 1 has got a splintered arm...and also,it was also raining on and off,and so when we were building the structure,it rained...and we cant possibly leave it there unfinished right?so we had to work in the rain...

hmm...3rd day of schl wasnt so bad i suppose,only got lost while trying to get to moral ed class...It was on the 7th level and stupid chairman brought us to the 5th level =P weird fello...hmm...we also had some scouts meeting thingy but i haf to attend class community meeting and so i missed it...wonder what is it abt...haahaa!guess wad,juz receieve an sms frm my APL...dangit...need to meet this friday at schl frm 2.30~3.30 at scl...attendance compulsory,muz wear PE T-shirt and shorts,no other clothes will be accepted..and CCA display prep this saturday at 10am to 6pm,meet in full U,and muz bring PE attire...i wonder wad is dis all abt...seems rather hetic...and man do i hate CCA display,muz put up all the camp equipment,pioneering,etc...its a lot of rubbish though...

Hmm...first day of school was very hetic...The Jr schl and the Sec schl has merged together in the old Jr schl compound...but the sec school extends to the hill,and all the way up to Acession Church...And now our schl is 7 storys high...Canteen On the field on the 1st.CCA room,canteen on the 2nd.Parade Ground,Woodsvillie hse,Staff Room,General Office,Media Library and Art Rooms on the 3rd level,4th to 6th are various home rooms,7th floor is the maths floor i think...but on the whole,the school is rather nice...

hmm...nothin much happened 2day...just came back from a BBQ at Jeremy's hse ...Well,since i had to move all the rubbish over to the new schl as all of you know we are shifting frm Geylang Bahru to Potong Pasir dis year...and so we still had spars,ropes,zinc plates,etc still in schl.And so they called for a last minute thing to ask all the avaliable(how the heck u spell it???)scouts to shift everything...and so unfortunately,me being u know who i am...HAD to go and help out.And so we were in schl at 9am starting to shift all those rubbish..and guess what...when some of us were carring a wooden plank,1 of my stupid friends had to drop it and i got sliced on my wrist =D with splinters all over...well,okay that was bad enough...and so when we got to the new schl...1 clown had to tip over a spar and hit me right in my shin...another 1 was that when i was carring some doge sticks,my stupid friend had to 'push' the doge sticks onto me...and which in then hit me right in the chest...cool right?then another time...another friend ad to swing the spar...and guess what...it hit me right in the head...i honestly shuld get some insurance...i went to help out shifting suff,yet i get so many types of injuries...oh ya...and so since we had too many stuff to carry,our AL decided to split it up,we were dismissed at 11am and later they would meet back in the old schl at 2.30m.And so since i had to leave at 12,i wad allowed to leave...and so i took a train all the way down to the meeting place which was Queenstown MRT station...but i arived there at 1pm...and the meeting time was 2pm...and so i wasted some time till 2pm...then we went to play some bball,then went swimming,then went started the BBQ.Unfortunately it was raining,so we had quite a bit of trouble starting the fire...but other than that,nothin much happened...

Wow!After 10 long days,i have finally completed supercamp.And my superteen friends,plz take note,it is SUPERCAMP not SUPERTEEN.Anyway,wad the heck,both are still super...anyway,what happen during supercamp is waay too long to tell,all i can say is that my room stank like shiet cuz of the bleddy pipe and my room mates broke every single rule without getting caught.If any of the TLs are reading this,yes, ollie and nickie got away with it.And the food there was so crazily lousy!!!We had only 3 dishes for every meal!!!!But i really must thank the TLs and my other camp mates.We all had a really wonderful time together.And suprisingly i got along with everyone in the camp.And just after the camp a bunch of us went out.And god...10 days without the music i love,good friends,computer and news was really bad...So many new stuff has come up...like the sprite lime wadever stuff...Ya,and thats about it.

Haa Haa!I am back from down under(Austuralia)!!!Since i got some spare time,i shall blog,actually i got my camp dates mixed up,so i am back here at home.My camp will be starting from tml and ends 10 days later =D Anyway,my experience in austuralia.On the first day,we arrived at the hotel in gold coast.The hotel room we stayed had a very nice sea view.It was barely 500m away from the beach.It was 11pm+ when we arrived at the hotel.It was +2hrs in Gold Coast.So we walked till very late.The schoolies were still up until dawn;similar to the 7 to 7 party.Those who are blur abt who are the schoolies,they are our JC2 ppl,they just finished their A level papers,so they are enjoying(of course they dont call them J2 and their exam A levels).And i haf found out that they are a crazy bunch of ppl.They shout from 1 hotel to the other past the main road.So u can imagine the ppl walking can hear their conversation.Anyway,the next day we went to dream world.Where we sat on all sorts of weird roller coasters.'The Claw' was the scariest but most fun.It is similar to a viking ship,just that the shape of the 'boat' is circular and the circular thing turns and turns as the thing moves left and right as ur legs dangles in mid air.Then there was a vertical drop thingy,i think must be at least 15 stories high.Then they just drop you,after waiting for like 30s at the top.Then there was another thingy,they said they used maglev tech to power it.So the things blasts off at top speed,then there is a vertical tower,then the thing travels up the tower.Then it gets pulled back and traveliing at god knows how fast backwards before jam braking.Then there is the 'vortex' it is like a top that spins like no bodys business and u get stuck to the wall(ouch) and i went on it twice.The second time,the guy stopped quite sudden.So i was still upside down and thus fell down.But 1 little guy still scard stuck to the wall.the structure is something like this \_/ and so the guy still clung on the top.The very next day,we went to Warner Bros studio.Nothing much to see,only the police acadamy 'pre enterance'(30 min before the thing started)The had a comedian to poke fun at everyone.it may not seem/sound funny but if u were there,you would be laughing ur head off.The next day,we went all they way to a farm.It was darn nice,we saw various types of animals.Later in the day,we went horse riding.The horse i rode on was crazy,try getting a horse galloping down hill.and i was like panicking like siao.my horse was the 3 last of 6 other horses around.And stupid horse,had to over take all the other horse to the 2nd in line.And also,the farm was freaking big.200 acers.1 acer is about 2 football fields.And the farm house we slept in was crazily big,our family our 5 took a 12 bedroom hse.There were 2 other family friends(those who play sims know their stats)who took 8 beds hse.The good thing about our room was that it was carpeted unlike other hse.And i haf found out 1 thing abt horse riding.When u see ppl going up and down with the horse,it is not because they are diliberately doing it,it is beacuse the horse pushes you up and you fall down.And so thats why u see cow boys opening their legs so wide when they haf a duel or when walking around,they haf abration at their *you know where*And the next day,we went to some island called Tangalooma.It is the south-easter part,off the coast of Queensland.They had dolphin feeding,which then although it was summer,the water was freeeeeezing.The next day,we had to climb a 9 story high pile of sand to silde down with a board.sounds easy,but the sand is very steep and if you haf ur shoes/sandles/slipper on,it will get loose easily.So we all had to go bare footed(the tour guide told us)In total,there was quite a big group of ppl.So we all went up.And another problem getting up,the sand was very very soft.God knows how.And the (wind+sand) was blowing right in our faces.We then left at 4pm to brisbane.We shoped all the way to 10pm+.Then the next day,we were to leave the place at 2pm for our flight.So we all did some last minute shopping.And my brudder and me were sitting on a bench outside a designer shop(i think,it has pretty cool interior designs)then a guy came up to us and commented that the red shirt i was wearing and the green shirt my brudder was wearing were the christams color.Other than that,nothing much happened until when i was sitting on the plane heading back home,the guy sitting beside me talked in a weird voice,like a 'tai jian' in a rather high pitch tone.So i was pretty freaked out.He was travelling in a tour group and was talking to a boy,dunnoe if he was the son or nephew.Anyway,i better sleep.I still haf a camp tml.You can still contact me on my handphone though.

Over Night Hike

Haa Haa!!!Okay!So it wasnt 45km!!!It was more!!We walked started at singapore discovery at 8.53pm and started to walk along jurong.And so we walked like hell,passed by Jurong Point,pass by Chinese Gardens,passed by some Heavy Vehicle carpark,walked a super desserted road where NO cars drove by,passed by a 'adandoned' camp,cutting through blocks of flat,passed by a LRT station and finally arrived at Chua Chu Kang MRT station at 1.30am.We all had some biscuits for supper and we all slept outside the gate of the MRT station =D And of course,as always,nobody slept well.In the end,i slept for about 2hrs.We all left Chua Chu Kang MRT at 5.30am and stared to make for Singapore Turf Club.And so we had to pass by some weird road where some parts had pavements and some parts grass.And it was only at 9am then we reached singapore turf;it was quite a nice place though,i thought it would be similar to the old 1.And so we then had to walk to a cremantorium(how U spell it?????)We then walked pass lower seletar reserviour,walked down mandai road,walked to upper thompson road,passed Nanyang University of Management,walked up to the row of houses(near the next bus stop;near the SPC petrol station),slogged up the hill to St.Nicholas,crawled to our next checkpoint which was the church near St.Nicholas,then briskly walked all the way to Bishan Park,crossed the road to the canal;passing the MRT track,walked all the way from Bishan Park to Woodsvillie(the path near our near school),we then crossed the road to Geylang Bahru and finally ended up at Boon Teng MRT!!!Yeah!!and that was the end of the 45km+++++++++++ hike

Haa Haa!Juz as i expected!Less than 20 ppl turn up out of the entire 30+ other scouts!Okay,so what did we do 2day?We wasted our time like hell...First we were asked to go to schl at 8.30am.As u know we all would start earlier,so we all came abt 7.40am+ And guess what,the time was changed to 9am...And at 9,2 of us went to get the boxes for the den packing,after that i some how or rather,i managed to get the slackest job only after navigating through the ants,lizards,spiders,roaches infested store.We were asked to get out all the ropes,sleeping bags,pillows(god knows why were they in the open air store) and firewood.Anyway,after that i QM asked me and another guy to take out all our weapons(yep,weapons,parangs,axes,felling axes,etc)and to start to wrap them after cleaning them...Cool eh,just sit down =D.Anyway,after that parents went to pick me up and went to suntec to waste time...and it is only now then i come back home...

Haa Haa!i know i havent been updating my blog for very long oreddy...well,because i am busing prearing for stuff...well,tml,i haf to go for scouts at 8.30am for den packing.As u know we are moving back to SAV next year!!!Yeah!!!But the bad thing is that,due to the holidays,A LOT of people are overseas having fun,etc.And according to my AL,out of our 5 man patrol,2 members are travelling.Considering our patrol to be very 'on' for a lot of things,i cant imagine how many ppl will turn up for den packing tml(later more like).And also,i will be aaaaawaaaaay on the 27th.i think...till dunnoe when.But on the 25th and 26th,i will be having a SANA course.We are all going to learn abt drugs!!Crack,Blow=Cocaine,LSD=acid,Aphetamine=speed,Special-K=ketamine,Es=Ecstacy,etc.There are many more kind of drugs that i know of,k?i am just too lazy to type them...And on the 7th or 8th of dec,i will be going for a 10day course.U ppl can still call or sms me on my mobile though.I think i had better sleep.I still got scouts tml!!!

Whee!!!My Com is Finally able to post a new entry!!!Any way...for the 2days in our school,we had quite a bit of fun...we had to make fire to cook our lunch.lunch?i dont know if u call that lunch...on an average of the 2 days we took about 3 1/2 hrs to make our own fire and cook a 5 course meal.Namely rice,chicken,minced pork,2 kind of vegetables and soup.On the first day was quite okay,we were all in the mud trying to set up our tents in the rain,thus getting all of us wet.But the strage thing was that we manage to start a fire on the 2 days which were raining.For lunch we had a sec 2 in our patrol helping us with the food.But later at night,we had to take Civics.It was a written test and the duration was about 1hr45min.So we were like taking exam in the middle ofthe night...After the test;which we all found out on the next day that all of us failed.We had night games!More like night war games.We were suppose to capture the enemy's flag which was kinda boring.So we only were allowed to bathe at exactly 12mn;in the cold freezing water...and 4 clowns in our troop started taking a hose and spraying water into ALL THE OCCUPIED bathing cubicals;thus making our clean clothes wet =P Which luckily our senior came in hearing some ppl sreaming to see what happened.Then guess what our senior did?Yepz,he made the 4 boys do push ups in the water-locked toilet and later spraying them whith the hose =D (haa haa!huo gai)And we slept in the class rooms instead of the flooded field.By the time we slept was already 1.30am and we had to wake up at 7am and be in our full uniform by 7.30am for flag break.Later at 8.30 we had to cook our own breakfast using tommy cookers(the tin like stove,'powered' by solid fuel)We then had to take Atheletics!The requirments are of followed
Pass in ANY 3 events to pass:
- 100m – 13s
- 200m - 26s
- 400m - 1min
- 800m – 2mins 30s
- 1.5km – 5mins 30s
- 2.4km - 10mins
So i did the 100m,200m and 2.4km.Acctually only 2 person got passed Atheletics.Me and another soccer player.I really dont know how i passed it but i did pass it after a few atempts =P For lunch we were asked to go out and buy raw food to cook.
We were given $2 for each person in the patrol...And sadly our patrol only had 3ppl including me,all of them who are sec 1.luckily me and another guy(the same 1 who passed the atheletics)were ex-cadets and knew how to start a fire and cook decently(the sec2 had to leave for some private function)...And so ya...that is more or less what happened during our camp...i am now watching 'The God Father 3'it is quite a nice show =D

hmm...12hrs has almost passed since scouts ended yet it is only now that i am going
to blog abt my day at scouts...nothing much happened at scouts...but the werid thing we did was chopping wood...as there is a lot of Big braches,i shall number them...the gigantic brach 1 off from a super big tree to gather some fire wood for god knows what reason later in the day after footdrill...the brach 2 was almost half a meter thick...it sounds easy to cut it off but it would be easy if the brach was DRY...but the brach 1 we had to cut off was still on the tree and therfore inside it was still moist...our AL started to chop off the area in which the brach 1 was connected to the trunk...But before that we had to do foot drill and if we did some clowns did the wrong turning wad so ever,we had to do push-up in the sun on the carpark...i think my head can be eaten for breakfast later(no,not because i did wrong turning wad so ever,it is because the 'One For All,All For One' motto)After almost 1hr or so of footdrill,our ALs asked finally gave up and asked the entire troop to try to think of a way to chop brach 1 off...so we started sitting on the brach,which proved ineffective...so a few of us started to jump on the branch(honestly i dont know if u can call it a brach or a trunk)and it finally broke...and again,tree brach 3 from the tree brach 2 fell,hit the metal frame for cricket and created a 'V' shaped dent,i mean 'V' as in really 'V' not 'U'...and i dont really know why we were asked to carry the entire tree bracj 1 back to the den...so all in all we had like 15ppl trying to carry it...but tree brach 1 did not even budge,so we made a rope to drag the entire thing back to the den...

I know by the time i have finished writing this entry,it has been more than 12hrs since the ending of school...now upon looking back,i am very sure i could have done better and probally even be in the top 50 positions...i still remember when we first started school...it was like yesterday only...last time i always think that it was just a saying and ppl had nothing else better to say...but i have realised now that this 'Phenomenon' is real...but now all of a sudden u see that it is at the end of the year...have we achived what we were aiming for?if no,why?is it because we were too lazy?is it because we really don't have time?is it because of the personal matters we attend to,thus disrupting our work?i am very sure that 99% of the students who have gotten back their report books are guilty,i am very sure they are hoping that they could go back in time,arrange their time properly,study and re-take the entire exam...but sadly,with the current tecnology,it is not possible.Even if u were to go back in time,mabey u would still slack?But ppl,plz remember,we must learn from our mistakes and try to amend it...i know it is easier said than done,but we must try to change our habits for the better...So would u now start learning ahead of ur syllabus and ace in ur subjects?or would u rather think that there is still a lot of time and just play like there is no tomorrow?

Dang...2day me and a few friends went to Hougang Superbowlfor bowling...then me and my 3 other friends shared a single lane...So we played for like an 2hrs or so...then it was time to pay up,the bill came to like $24.30 i only played a single game so the rest were panicking like hell...cuz all of them did not have enough money to pay for their games...So they were begging me to help them pay =P which i reluctantly loaned them enough to cover the costs...so now...after outside the superbowl building they started to empty out their wallets to try to cover as much money they had borrowed...so now only 1 person has covered his costs...now 1 person still owes me $3 and the other $6....Dang....i am starting to become a loan shark...a few other ppl in schl still owes my a lot of money in which totals up to $22.70 so if i were to add up to the current 1,it totals up to $31.70
